Week 10 – Thomas Gianiodis

This week at SiteOne I had a couple sweet opportunities for work outside of the routine. On Wednesday, I had the chance to ride along with and outside salesperson in our area, and together we visited customers and asked about what they were buying and if there were any problems that they needed resolved. This was an awesome experience because I was able to see how large accounts get what they need from us so efficiently, and how a good sales person makes notes about things that need to be handled and follows up. We visited the owner of Colarossi landscaping, and asked him about purchasing black aluminum edging in bulk, and how everything with their lighting jobs is going. Later in the week, I had a call with all the interns from around the country and CEO Doug Black joined to give us career advice and answer questions. I asked a question about what he would potentially do differently knowing what he now knows if he were to be starting again. He said he wouldn’t change very much, but would try to stay in contact with even more people and connect with even more people. The pictures below are from a customer’s shop where I visited with the outside salesman. We scouted the material he had and hoped he would be interested in buying bulk mulch from us in the future.
