This week our intern crew traveled to Albert Lea, MN to tour their dog food location. At this location, they make the turkey blend for The Farmers Dog and are the sole producer of the dog food Ollie. It was interesting to see the similarity between the two locations even though they produce completely different products. The Ollie food lines package the same way our folded egg lines do. The Farmers Dog turkey blend is made and packaged just like our EXT egg line that makes the breakfast burrito mix for McDonald’s. All the dog food made at this location is human grade and when asked for samples was given a weird look and denied. So that was sad, I kinda wanted to try it and see what it tasted like. So maybe I’ll just have to buy it on my own time in order to try it…..
