Week 10

The last week for blog post. This is a special week for me. I went through the interview process with my department manager. From the resume of interviewees. I had further understanding of what kind of employees does a business really want. This is crucial for my future career for looking for related jobs. I hope everyone is going through excellent internship experience:) Have a nice summer.

Week 9

This is one of the busiest week in my internship. My main task is collecting the data for the fashion design held last week. And compare the data of fabric with other brands. Comparing data and data analysis are two major elements for marketing department. We learned a lot from it.

Week 8 of my internship

Hello everyone, hope everyone is doing well this week!

I had a busy but substantial week. There are 2 big events this week. One is the Shenzhen Fashion Week. It was a cloth exhibition. There are more than 200 business display their products. I learned a lot from the exhibition. And I also got some social connection with some business. It was a pretty good experience. Another big event is Yinger Prize. It was a fashion design competition. Participants were from all over the world, and some are from very famous design college, such as Parsons in New York. I met a lot of passionate designer and heard about their story. Lovely week 🙂

Week 6

I went to Shanghai this week for photo shooting of new products. My job is to assist my manager to organize all the cloth and accessories and contact with models. And I also assigned models with different outfit to make sure the photo shooting process is going efficiently. This is a new experience for me and it is not what I imagined. Everyone is serious and work in high speed load. Everyone is busy and running. Good experience, good week! Hope everyone else is doing good so far.

WEEK 6

This is my 6th week of my internship. It was a pretty good and busy week. I just finished the business travel. And my job for this week was collect the data and organize the documents and notes we made during the meeting. The good news is the manager talked about the return offer with me. If I will go back to China after I graduate. They would like to provide me a job offer. For next week, we have a International Communication Event and I am the charger of that event. It is a great honor and a good opportunity to show my skills. Looking forward to next week. And hope everyone are having a good internship so far:)

Week 5 of my internship

I accomplished my first business travel this week. I went to Guangzhou with my supervisor. I was excited since this is my first time. The manager said to me: ” I hope you can keep your excitement for your future business travel.” I know this means that I will get tedious in the future. I strongly felt the power of time management for this week. We travelled for an annual meeting this time. But we have some other assignment to accomplish at the same time. If we do not meet the requirement on time, it will be big trouble. Therefore, I never think time management is a skill. But it really is after this experience. And this is the most valuable experience in my internship by now.

Week 4

This is the busiest week for my internship so far. As I said last week, I started going to work by subway. And this highly increase my routing efficiency. To be honest, nothing really special and fun happened this week. The new thing is that we started doing research and market on organic food market. And since I have the experience study in the United States which is in the leading position of organic food, we started doing some market research in United States. Translating documents become my daily work now. So far so good!

Week 3 of my internship

This week was pretty good for me. I finished everything on time or in advance. I found my interest in marketing, especially the digital marketing. Since I had some experience of making Youtube Video, my supervisor watched my videos and decided to ask me to do a promotion video of some cosmetics products. It is a little bit challenging for me but I was so happy, since I got trust from my manager.

I learned how to take the subway in Shenzhen. It is a very big improvement for me. The subway in shenzhen is really complicated. But the traffic is terrible in the morning. So I have to take the subway in order to get to work on time. So far so good, I enjoyed what I am doing and I am always excited every summer since I am back in China.

Week 2 of my internship at Shirble

I enjoyed this week so much more than last week. To be honest, last week was kind of boring, since I was new there and no actual work needs to do. However, I started to work on actual stuff fo Shirble. As a marketing internship, one of my jobs is to check and translate emails from foreign customers and sponsor. Furthermore, I need to post on WeChat, Weibo, and XiaoHongShu everyday about our product introduction in order to maintain the customer relationship. My job is not hard so far. But I love the feeling of making the actual contribution to the company. Sometimes I am tired of working on the computer for over 6 hours, but I made it. I am looking forward to my next week task. I hope it will be more challenging so that I can actually improve my ability.

Week 1 of my internship

This is the first week of my internship. And this is actually my first official internship in a big company- Shirble Department Store. I am the only intern in the marketing department for this month. There was no formal orientation or training. On Monday 5/20/19, the manager brought me to different department and introduce the main role of them. And I had a about an hour meeting with the manager. She introduced the company background, the current situation, and my objectives as an internship (what she expected me to do ). I think I got an overall understanding of the company and it could fulfill my role as an internship. I did not do any actual work on my first day of work. But it the day 1 gave me a really impact of the company and I was looking for word to work there.

On day 2 and day 3 of this work ( I work 5 days a week), I have been exposed to many aspects of their operations and have developed a better understanding the marketing department. My main task of this week was get familiar with my supervisor and deal with some emails from foreign countries which need to be translated into Chinese. I have the advantage of studying abroad in US for more than 5 years. So they trust my English.

Nothing really interesting happed this week. But I feel excited to work there. All the colleagues are really nice and helpful. They love to teach me and share their experience with me. From this week’s work, I have a more comprehensive understanding of marketing. And I found that I am actually really interested in the marketing work.
