This week in the Kroger stores has been kind of stressful. There was a lot of preparation going on for the 4th of July which caused everyone to be a little stressed, making sure their departments were prepared for the holiday. I set up a lot of merchandising displays, shadowed the merchandising and operations managers, and learned a lot of information dealing with both merchandising and operations. The interns have talked about setting up a volunteer event working with the Children’s Hospital to help out kids with cancer. This could be an extremely great experience for all of us which I am very much looking forward to if it works out. Next week is our last week working in the stores, and then we will go back to working in the office working on our projects. My group got assigned the meat/seafood freshness. The project is based on trying to find a way to improve the freshness this department. Next week I will be focusing on working in the meat department and learning everything about it and looking at ways to improve it.
