This week our milk sales coordinator was gone at the end of the week when all the reports were due to the market administrator and the USDA. Due to her absence I had to complete some of the reports for her. On Wednesday I was an active participant in the Great Dairy Adventure at the MSU Pavilion. MMPA had cow shaped hats and cow cut outs that the children could color. At this event, families were encouraged to come and walk around the pavilion to learn all about the dairy industry. There was a station to milk a cow, the MSU dairy club was there and there was the opportunity to stick your hand in a cows rumen through a canula. A canula is an apparatus that holds an opening open on the side of the cow to access the rumen so that researchers can collect items for data entry and experiments.
