There was not an official tour of Great Lakes Packing Company when the interns arrived. I am lucky enough to have made friends with a few of the line workers in back who have been in the industry for quite some time now. They had asked me if I wanted to go on a orchard run with them and see what it was all about. Figured it got me out of the office for a little while, why not go. We were driving through the orchards and stumbled upon a very young orchard, in which a very noticeable fact was stated. Each Cherry tree in it’s lifetime will produced over $100,000 worth of raw product for the tree’s owner. Here is a picture of a very young orchard. Just imagine how many hundred of thousand of dollars is just chilling in that orchard.
